The second China International Import Expo (CIIE) attracted worldwide attention and made great achievements. In cooperation with the Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai (CPIT Shanghai) and as a member of Shanghai Urban Security Leading Group, Intex, led by the Ministry of Commerce, the CPC Shanghai Committee and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, did a great job in serving the CIIE with full participation and concentration. By means of "compliance with top criteria, effective actions and high-quality implementation," Intex, a leading force and a good host, presented itself as a professional and proactive facilitator. 

1. To complete the recruitment of the auto exhibition and organized the "Auto Innovation Technology & Automatic Driving Experience Area" with a “pioneering spirit”
Intex continued to be in charge of the recruitment of the auto exhibition this year. Leveraging on its cooperation with foreign auto companies in holding Auto Shanghai, Intext outpaced those in charge of other exhibition areas and became the first one to complete recruitment, securing a contracted area of 14,061 m2. Fifty-six companies from 16 countries and regions had signed up to participate in the exhibition, outnumbering the exhibitors last year. The auto exhibition area gathered the leading businesses in the upstream and downstream of the auto industry and all the world-famous auto brands were present. Intex was praised by the organizing committee for its remarkable recruitment. The "Automobile Innovation Technology & Automatic Driving Experience Area," set up by Intex in the outdoor area of the North Square, aimed to provide a platform for static display and dynamic experience for businesses specializing in automatic driving vehicles and technologies, so that domestic and foreign government guests, industry insiders and the public could get an idea of the latest products and technologies in the field of automatic driving, which would promote the intelligent development of the entire auto industry. Covering an area of 16,000 m2, the experience area offered the audience with the opportunity to experience for free 12 new energy and driverless vehicles from Toyota, Hyundai, Ford and Nokia. The auto exhibition area received leaders from different provinces, cities and ministries, who spoke highly of the excellent exhibition effects and the cutting-edge exhibits. 

2. To undertake the work of the Secretariat of the CIIE Leading and Coordinating Group of CPIT Shanghai as “a leading force”
The Secretariat of the CIIE Leading and Coordinating Group of CPIT Shanghai was set up in Intex. Under the leadership of the party group of CPIT Shanghai, the Secretariat studied the objectives and requirements we should meet as a member of the "Urban Security Leading Group" and quickly got started on various aspects of the preparatory work.

3. To guarantee the IT-related work a complete success with zero error
Under the coordinated guidance of the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Public Security and the Cyber Security Corps of Shanghai Public Security Bureau, Intex built, operated and maintained the official website, official Weibo account, APP and other business systems of the CIIE.

4. To undertake the Country Exhibition (Extended) with the “big picture” in mind
The Country Exhibition (Extended) lasted from November 13 to 20, for which a leading group had been set up. Xu Kunlin, Vice Mayor of Shanghai, was appointed head of the group, Shang Yuying, Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai municipal people’s government, was appointed executive deputy head, and the rest of the deputy heads included important leaders from Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and CPIT Shanghai. CPIT Shanghai was the main service provider of the Extended Exhibition and Intex the main executor. We were responsible for the specific work, such as the development and operation of the online booking system and the operation at the exhibition venue. The booking system for the Extended Exhibition was launched at 0:00 on October 15, 2019, together with the visitor hotline 962288. By October 24, all 400,000 reservations had been made. 64 countries participated in the Country Exhibition (Extended) and 280,000 visitors were received. To improve the visiting experience, e-tickets were used to gain access to the exhibition hall, the same as last year. There was a special lounge area for the elderly and the weak, a medical center and a children reception area. The operation was safe and orderly in general and the visitors had a good experience there.

Thanks to the strong leadership of the party group of the CPIT Shanghai and the efforts of all our employees, Intex successfully completed all the tasks at the 2nd CIIE. The whole process of preparation meant a lot to us as it showed how we performed our duties, played our roles and trained our staff. We will take this as a starting point, actively implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, the keynote speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the opening ceremony of the 2nd CIIE, and the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping during his visit in Shanghai, and strive to make new contributions to the construction of Shanghai as an international exhibition city.
